Brake pads, when to replace

Hey guys,
Just wondering, I've checked my front brake pads and they are down to 5mm (I'm yet to check rear brake pads) and been trying to google when they should be replaced but only find distance and not pad thickness to replace.
Current pads have done 72,500km in 7-ish years and are down to 5mm, in a Mk2 RS2000.

Cheers, Scott.

i recommend replacing once they are on or below 2mm to customers. only because chances are you wont see them for 6 months.
i let mine go to about 1 because im stingy and can replace them any time.

    cheers
