English diff > forest alloy arches

Can this be done, or will I have to go Atlas or Hilux? I note that the length of English is 48" half shaft flange to flange) and the recommended Atlas from Mk1 Capri is also 48" or is that just the housing?

    The mk2 cortina english diff is wider.
