Changing Courtesy light to LED

Hi Guys,

So ive got the dash lights all converted to LED, and last night went to plug in the new interior LED Courtesy light that i bought off ebay.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370722301647

Only to find out that it doesnt work. I had a brain rattle for a while untill it dawned on me that the escort interior courtesy lights use a negative "circuit" (im sure theres a better terminoology for it than that?).

In other words, where the center pin on the bottom of the globe is normally positive, while the casing of the globe is the negative side, the escort do it the other way around so that the center pin is the negative, and the casing is the positive.

Learning my lesson about having to have the polarity of the LED around the right way, i cant see how this solution will work in an escort. For it to work in the escort, the LED is expecting the center pin to be the positive.

I cant simply swap the wires, because there are three of them (one positive and two negatives), which are what allow both the door switch functionality, and the roof switch functionality.

Does anyone have any bright (pardon the pun) ideas about how to get this to work in the escort?. I did swap the wires around just to see how it looked, and its DEFINATELY brighter than the standard bulb, but obviously i cant leave it like that as i still want both switch positons to work.

Cheers

Dave

I use led panel for interior light. It provides best light and comes with appropriate adapters.

The led panel sits inside factory light lens, so it still looks completely standard but lights up very bright.
