hi jim. I have a few options up my sleeve, but it seems to be a consumable part, so certainly interested in getting another as a spare. Can you let me know how much you would want for the heater core (assuming it is not leaking?), and how much to post from you to me?. 3136. Thanks Dave

Year ago I had the heater core reco'd and only cost $100 or so. Any radiator joint should be able to do it. You investogate this option before buying a 2nd one and potentially being in the same boat in the future. Cheers, Matt

Hi Glenn, This is the one i bought. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161023323894 I had a few emails with the guy back and forth and he assures me he has been using this size in MK2 escorts for a long time wiht no problems. The Dimensions also marry up to within a few MM of the one i pulled out of my car. Postage was 30 pounds. Will report back on how it fits and works. Dave

Hi Guys, As promised, attached are a few photos side by side of the new heater core i bought off ebay, and my original one. I am yet to actually fit it into the car and test operation as i need to first fix some rust in the hear plenum and dont want to have to pull it all out again (including the dash!) when the time comes to fix it. All in all it is a great fit. It comes with sticky back foam to cut down the rattles, and certainly fits into the existing cavity in the heater box assembly very nicely. Obviously taking exchange rates into consideration, the unit cost me $125 delivered to my door. And i must say this seller was awesome. I ordered it on the 9th of this month, and it was delivered on the 15th. Keep in mind there was a weekend in there too. For those thinking of doing this - i can recommend so far. Dave

yes i was thinking of doing that, but in hindsight i may have made matters worse by putting mains pressure through my old one :)
