Wiper switch question

My switch gear for the wipers decided to fail today (with winter coming up, go figure), I was going through my spares and I've either got wipers with no lights or lights with no wipers.

The wipers that I've been using work fine from a electrical stand point, but the metal house they sit in is broken so the switch gear slides out when going over bumps causing my to loose wipers, I figure changing the metal housing would be the way to fix that problem.
So what is the best way to remove the housing from one of my spares?

Also, I noticed this on one of my spares,

What does the symbol on the far left mean? Not sure if its for the 'flick-wipe' as when the lever is put in the down position it stays there unlike the flick-wipe.

I've also got a job interview for the RAAF on Monday so I'd like to have the car fixed before then.
