    Hello George,
I saw your message on classic ford regarding the Scheel headrests.
If you cannot find them please let me know. I am considering reproducing to suit the Australian RS2000.
Will be exact copies of the large version headrests, including part number etc.

    Many Thanks,
    PeterM.

Can someone tell me how the headrests are removed?  Is it just a case of pulling them up?  If so, mine are rusted in (or worse).

    Fighter,
You will not be able to remove them if the seat has not been recovered and the split pin was not removed.

Thanks John.  I guess I'm lucky the headrest height is OK where it is.  Any downside to removing the split pin during recovering?  For instance, will it slip out of the set position easily?

No, My first RS I had them removed, thus adjustable,(they stayed in position fine) On my current car forgot to tell the Upholster fixed to factory setting.

And still on the topic of Scheels, can someone tell me what size bolts were used to secure the seat rails to the floor?  I don't have an RS handy otherwise I'd pull one out measure it myself.

Peter, I am also looking for a set of headrests. If you are going to reproduce them I would be interested as well.

Is it time to dig up this old thread? 7 months later........has anything happened regarding the headrests Peter?

I am still on the lookout or if anyone has headrests with seats attached I would also be interested.

    Cheers, Craig.

    Hi Craig,
If you don't have any joy with them you could also give Ben at Global Trim a call, he specializes in Scheel seats. I got bits off him for mine, does Escort and Falcon stuff. No is mob.0407525065
    Cheers,
    Len

I am interested in reproducing them.

However not worth the investment if other options are currently available.

Just remember there are two versions of the headrests for the RS2000's. The VK Commodore version Scheel has on their website is only one version.

Two versions of headrest hey..... the plot thickens.......

Does anyone know which type was for what year car? I can only think of the one type. Anyone have any pics comparing the two?

I spoke to the guy at Scheel Australia, he said he can produce new bare headrests for $300. I asked him for a ballpark figure to retrim and refoam the seats and I nearly fell off my chair!

Len, I rang Ben at Global about 6 months ago. He said he can make new headrests if he has to but I didn't ask for a price at the time as I thought a set would turn up.
