It almost ended the same day I got it. The old man had leant me the money on the understanding that the first sign of trouble it was to be sold. No more than five minutes after picking it up I went through my first speed camera, managed to beat the folks to the mail box when the fine arrived. I only just plucked up the courage to tell him about it a couple of months ago Cheers Drew...

Hey mate, I highly recommend Cic ceramics in Radium St Welshpool, in fact all of Radium st, between Cic, the zinc coaters next door, welding supplies and Perth brake parts on the other side of the highway I always seem to come back with loads of goodies but also an empty wallet, haha... Cheers Drew...

Looks great Drew. Have you got some heat shielding for your clutch cable?

Hey mate, keen eyes to spot that... I've been pondering a solution, managed to tuck it behind one of the brake lines when they went back in, its given it about an inch more clearance, happier with that. Hopefully the ceramic coat lives up to its reputation as a thermal barrier, I may have to wrap the portion of exhaust under the drivers side yet so there will be some left over wrap for the cable... Sorted the sticking starter motor, it was the solenoid, turned into a mission after getting it back from the original sparky, he didn't even bother to look at it just told me it was ok... Dealt with this a few times with contractors now, what pisses me off is if you're too busy or can't be bothered just tell me, now I'm a week behind because of it and he's been sent to another job at a false address, anyway, sorted now and still on track for start up before christmas... Cheers Drew...

I got my zetec headers ceramic coated and they do keep the temp down in the engine bay. If you use a Cortina TE pinto clutch cable it'll be long Enuff to swing it out the way of heat . Pic is of the pipes..

Thanks Marty, good info, if theres any dramas I'll just change the cable to Cortina... How has the finish on your headers held out? Wasn't sure about the chrome finish but figured if they dull down they'd look like cast finish which was my second choice anyway... Cheers Drew

Hi Drew, my pipes came from Ashley performance exhaust in uk and i got them coated next to pacemaker exhaust at Richmond , South of Adelaide , apart from a minimal bit of rust at the lower collector they've held out really well for 7yrs. The color did dull off just slightly at the top from the heat but they still shine when polished , Cheers

Had the rest of the exhaust finished off today, splurged out and went stainless, what the hell I've come this far with the car... Had it properly muffled this time too, when I look back at its last 'boy racer' guise I'm embarrassed to say just how loud it used to be... Just a few things left to do now, at least I can tune it properly without pissing off the neighbours and sending myself deaf haha... Stuck in a pic of it with the Cortina too, first time they've been in the same place together for ages. Cheers Drew...

Looks great Drew. Did you already have an exhaust system in place, or did you drive there with open pipes? I'm in need of a new system myself, so will be keen to hear how this one sounds.

That undercarriage looks mint 😆 When pipes are done proper it really shows. . We'll done mate 👍. If i can answer Flighters question , you can drive ur car direct to the zorst place just call them before leaving home so if a rozzer does haul you up , 9 times out of 10 they let you go and/or follow you to the muffler shop . I had one follow me as my car was extra loud from the headers with a side exit one early satdy morn , once i indicated into the muffler shop they gave a thumbs up and went their own way.

That's a thought Marty. Twenty years ago I could have gone somewhere only a few kms from home, but what was an industrial area then has quickly turned into a retail and business zone. Drew's a lot further from me, but it looks like whoever he used did a nice job, so I might be tempted to make a run for it.
