Mk1 Dash Cluster Lighting

Hey guys,
 
So I bought some of the Dash Light LED's that are coming in the mail hopefully but that isn't the main problem.
I remember when I first checked the dash lights worked, but now some don't seem to be working. The speedo and the fuel gauge and stuff don't light up but the indicator lights work.
 
Does anyone know what could possibly cause this? I haven't pulled off the dash cluster yet because I'm a little bit lazy and just got my P's so I've been having more fun driving it than working on it 
 
Also why I have your attention my speedo seems to be out by around 10km's until you hit 100 then its 20km's out. Is there any way to fix this easily or is it more complicated ^_^
 
Hopefully what I've said has made sense and I might even upload pictures of my precious to the projects section when I find the time.
