Introduction from Canberra

Gday everyone, just thought id do a quick post to say hello. Names mitch and only new to this site but already found a heap of good info. I have wanted an escort since i was a kid, and finally bought a 95% rust free mk2 4dr 1.6GL with 170,000km and full service history with dates etc. I wanted to find a round headlight grill and my father inlaw had seen a mk2 panelvan 2lt at a friend of his and asked how much he'd sell it for. In the end i got it for $200 and the plan was to use the grill and centre console, diff, box and pinto because the shell was "rusty". Anyway i checked over the body and gave it a hit with the pressure washer and the only rust on it is passenger side floor behind the front wheel, like inside the guard there i made a hole. So ive decided to keep it to, and put the xflow into it and use it as a get around daily. Plans for the 4dr... Suspension, tramp bars, quick turn rack, and probably mild cam etc in the pinto. Or put the pinto back into the panelvan and try a CA18DET conversion. Years away though haha, will start a project thread soon. Cheers Everyone
