Cheers guys, and yeah, your Panny is sitting pretty much the same, haha. And I know everything is subject to change on the build but I've got an idea on how it's gonna go at the moment so I'll just keep running with that. Main focus is to get the body/chassis done, then I'll move on to other areas.

Only had an hour or so spare tonight so I started the front recessed part of the sill.

And the rest of the sill which I will tackle over the next week.

Cheers

Those sills look scary! I replaced both of mine..And A posts. .inner sills .. rear arches !
Did you step the new piece down about 5mm so the lower guard sits level with the Sill ?
Keep up the good work ☺

Yeah, stepped it in, that's why I did that piece first. So I could use the old sill for the higher reference.
Well been putting an hour here and an hour there over the last week and have spent all that time on the sill....... I mean where do you stop???
Looks like it's the outer sill, inner sill and floor section. Plus the wheel arch but sort of lucky there because it's getting flares, so all I have to worry about is cleaning up the arch I'm chopping out.
I'll post up some pics later.

Cheers

So started off getting a couple of pieces folded up by my brother to replace the rusty section of the lower sill, silly me thinking that's all I might need to do and rust convert what's inside and seal it

But when I cut that section out, any where that was around the inner sill was in usable

So out came the drill bits.... Just when I thought I'd finish drill spot welds.... And I removed what was left of the outer sill at the rear

Then went on to make a new replacement piece the inner rusted out sill before I cut it out just so I could get all the bends pretty close before I mangle it getting those spot welds off.
Got the old masking tape out

And ta da!! Just like that...... Haha not really, there were a few bends on bends that was a bit time consuming but pretty happy with it.

The piece looks not very straight in the last pick but it's just the marks on the metal. It's pretty flat.

And my pile of rust I've cut out so far.

So thats where I'm up to, have to cut that section out now and patch a hole that's in the floor behind the sill, then I can start re assembling it all then move onto the wheel arch. Happy days.

Cheers
Ben

More sill work, got it back to where it's all solid then cut a rusted section out then rust converted everything thing that was left in there for safe measure and will coat it in paint before I start re assembly.

Now ready for re assembly

But also noticed the rust in the top of the sill is beyond rust convertor in a section so I'll have to do that next, then probably were the door check strap is as that has a rust hole and where the door rubber clips on is pretty bad. It's honestly never ending...........

Cheers.

Cheers guys.

Been a while since updates, not much has happened. Finally finished the sill off and also did the little bit on the a pillar and top of the sill. If I break it down to sections, like engine bay, drivers side floor, drivers side sill, wheel arch, rear roll pan, other wheel arch, passenger sill, passenger floor and roof/gutters. That's 2 out of 9 sections done on the shell. Sort of makes me feel better tackling it in pieces, not as overwhelming.
The drivers side floor isn't too bad, I got a mini sand blaster and I was surprised as to what it took off rust wise. I've probably got 4 patches in the drivers floor, two small, two medium, then I'll move onto cutting out the rear arch and prep for fitting of the flare. Then just keep working my way around the body replacing rust sections till I can get it sand blasted.

Anyway, here are some progress pics

Cheers for looking.
