ESKIE - Second attempt

Dunno where to start haha, few of you should remember this thing. I think multiple people off here owned it before I bought it off Tybrown as a roller when I was 15. Chucked the motor out of my rally car in it, got it registered, did my Ls in it, then proceeded to have it taken straight off the road after getting my Ps due to some enthusiastic driving haha. Let it sit on my front lawn for around a year, then needed money to spend on a Commodore so I could fit in with everyone else, so sold it to a guy in Perth in 2009.

Back in the day:

Anyway, getting back into Escorts couldn't have happened at a better time. Ty sent me a link about a month ago to a for sale post, asking if it was our old car... and yeah, I couldn't help myself.

Was the one car I always regretted selling, can't even put into words how happy I am to have it back.
Is basically how I sold it, but in more pieces and with more parts. Don't know where to start with it really, will probably just sit around for the next 6 months until I finish my other car, just wanted to buy it back while I had the chance.

Anyway, few specs:
Worked 2L, twin 45 downdraft webers.
rebuilt type 9 and quaife quick shifter
Shortened VLT 28spline BorgWarner LSD w/4.11s
Hoppers Stoppers brake kit

Will be selling both sets of wheels (15x7 mesh style, 14x6 superlites), and either putting the motor/box into my MK2 or selling it. So if anyone's interested before I properly advertise let me know.
I'll hopefully update this thread sooner than expected, already struggling to stop myself working on it and it only arrived yesterday haha.

Nah unsure on brand of the mesh wheels the guy I sold it to put them on, they're the ones on the car in the second last picture. Had a heap of interest in them already, pretty sure they're sold.

Ty, you still gonna want to buy it back one day if it gets an SR? Haha I remember how much you hate them :P haha hopefully I don't make the same mistake twice and sell it, but will let you know first again if I do.
No idea what happened to the interior, all that's left is the front seats and door trims. Not a big deal as I was going to retrim it all anyway, but would've been nice to have a base to start from haha.

Yeah bought it back from the same guy I sold it to. Getting it sent back from Perth hurt the wallet a fair bit haha. Ah well, no regrets, nothing like your first car to make you feel young again lol :P

Mesh wheels are gone sorry to everyone else interested. Superlites I think I'm gonna have to keep for now, forgot how many Escorts I had that need to be rollable haha.

Did get the vented bonnet back on, made it look a lot less run down. Now just having a long hard think about keeping the 2L in it or going SR. So much for not touching it for a few months. Got into my head that I need a car for Small Ford Sunday, fat chance of that happening in time though haha, maybe by 2014 :P

Just keep in mind, no  matter how much time and money is spent on any car, there will always be something faster out there to beat it.
I say keep it all Ford

bringing back so many memories this thread,
get it going again with the pinto as is, concentrate of the body work and paint as you can do it yourself, we both know another long winded project is the last thing you need. then when you get bored of driving it do as you wish engine wise, but im guessing the vk will be quick enough and this will be plenty fun through the windy stuff as itis.
