Can anyone tell me the difference

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Black and the Blue 2000cc motors if any other than the colour.

    If we are talking Pintos them blue ones are early ones and black ones are later ones...

    Just my 2.2c worth including GST....

    Thanks for that. I just tried to change a starter motor from one to another and no way was it going to fit.

    Bob - is one starter bigger than the other?
    The cortina ran a larger starter motor than the escort.....
    The cortina one will fit but you will need to remove the engine mount first

    Thank you for the info, you hit the nail right on the head.  It came out of a transit van but I now remember the bloke I bought it from saying it wasn't the original motor and it had come from a Cortina. Getting old the memory is not as good as it was thanks again.
