Question About Console Clock.

I'm attempting to fit this clock but I need to cut out the hole in the console.
My question is, does the clock sit off the front of the console, or is it recessed into the hole?

Hmm, it actually sits inside the plastic shroud by the looks of the photo.
I don't have all the parts it seems!

Once I started cutting out the hole I discovered the metal frame the clock mounts to inside the foam.
I don' have the plastic trim, but this will do. Looks ok.
