weber 32/36 dgav

Hey guys, does anyone have a spare carb for the pinto they would part ways with for $?

I've got mine on, but it seems theres a lot of stuff missing, having trouble getting the choke to work... seems like theres meant to be a spring that holds the flaps closed allowing for the pressure to suck them open when accelerator is actuated?

Not sure, but heres what the top of mine looks like...

Is this salvageable????

Cheers!

Regards,

Tim

    Hey Mate,

That is pretty filthy.  Your best bet is to pull is apart and clean it up and throw a rebuild kit through it at the same time.  Even if you get a 2nd carby you you still put a kit through it unless it came from a running car with no issues.

It also looks like you are indeed missing the linkage from the choke to the butterfly.

Here is what it should look like.

If the choke butterflies are the only issue I would just remove them completely.  It's a common performance mod, posted on turbosport forums i think

thanks ratta, I undersatand this is a mod but it doesn't seem to go too far when concerning daily driving reliability.....

    Matt,
Is that picture showing the linkage between the butterflies and the automatic choke?

    Thanks guys!

Or buy my new 38/38 DGMS, gain some performance and ditch the dodgy auto choke set up.
