smoke/mist

Hey guys,

Turning over the newly rebuilt pinto and had it running for about 15 seconds, after it turned off there was a bit of smoke or some sort of mist coming from the front of the engine, prior to this it came out the valve cover breather (it popped off)....

Is this cause for concern?

Regards,

Tim

If you have painted anything it may just be a bit of paint or oil burning off some components but as to the breather popping off I have no idea.

Is the block breather attached and not blocked up?

The box under the carb. Its role is to allow the gasses that get past the pistons somewhere to vent it back into the carbs.

    Hope that makes sense.
