Mk1 & Mk2 Escort Pedal Box

For a Manual
I am about to "try" and fit a Mk2 Pedal assembly in a Mk1, Now of the angles of the pedal housings are different and the brake arm hole appears
in a altered position,
Is there any one with advise on what is easier and what it does to the final point to where the pedals sit to the floor pan and steering column and
the hieght of the pedals for foot work,
has any one done this ?

Why, can't you just use a MKI pedal box?

My MK1 had a MK2 pedal box in it and it was terrible.  The clutch pedal used to rub on the steering column,  the clutch cable point through the firewall was different and put excess load on the cable,  and the brake and clutch pedals were 100mm lower than they should be (vertical not travel).  I now have a pedal box that is intended for a MK1 and everything fits like it should.

Thanks for your imput, I had them side by side and partly fitted and I could see all you describe, I was just unsure about the pedal hieght which you adviced,
I will resurrect the butchered mk1 assembly I have
