A couple of rookie queries

Hey guys,

Firstly, I've got these extractor gaskets that i can't seem to figure out (see photo 1 below).

They only seem to fit with two of them with the metallic side facing the block, and two with the metallic side facing the extractors. (see picture 2)

Have i done something wrong here?

Secondly, with these gaskets and the inlet manifold gasket, do I apply gasket goo?

Cheers!

Regards,

Tim

    Hey Tim.
    I went through this.
Pretty sure if you fiddle around enough you find all of them fit the right way round.
    Sure from memory mine did.
    Shouldn't need goo - i havn't.
    Daz.

As long as gaskets are square in relation to the ports, other than aesthetics it will seal either way.
    Don't need any goo.
    Cheers

Don't know about others but I'm not a fan of goo unless it's necessary.
I put a little around the water outlet from the head to the inlet manifold but thats all.
    And sump gasket.
