magna manifold on pinto.

so i've been looking for a cheap option for an efi manifold for my pinto. i had a tr magna manifold laying around. i took this,

and removed this from a std manifold.

and used it to make this.

which will end up mounting this to my cylinder head. it turns out it's too wide for the bay.

i ended up finding an early (tn-tp) manifold on ebay. when put side by side the early one is 260mm wide and the late one is 310mm. the early manifold has ECI MULTI on top of it. so i cut the throttle body mount off. used a hacksaw this time.

cut a patch out of an old ecotec manifold.

then broke out the gear and welded it on.

when it cooled, i blasted the flux off and leak tested it. a few pinholes. i'll fix them tonight.

i'm looking at throttle body options now. i'll probably use a camira one. the plan is to use delco efi so it'll work well together.

Would Bike Throttle bodies be an easier cheaper option?

I like what you are doing though.

    Cheers,

easier maybe. cheaper no. also not suitable for the the application. there is a turbo setup in this engines' future.

did a bit more to the plenum. made up a mount for the tb then attached it. some sort of brace won't hurt either. just waiting on burrs now to finish the clean up of the redundant casting bits. next step is to make the manifold fit the adaptor plate then the head. pics.

did a bit more to this. tapped the adaptor plate for a couple of studs. drilled another hole. just working out how to attach a couple of the bolts at the top. may need to weld a couple of ears on for more studs. pics when it gets a bit more interesting.
