Sticky RS Tacho

I've got my dial cluster out at present to address a number of issues.
One thing thats bugged me for a long time is the tacho needle wont move after the engine is started until you tap the glass, then it's fine and works perfectly.
Has anyone else had this issue, and while I have it out is there anything I can do to to fix?

Haha all MK2's seem to do that.  I had some other work done on the dash in my MK2 RS and the guy instrument guy fixed it.  From memory It is actually caused by a build up of grease on the needle contact.
It used to drive me nuts and all 3 MK2's i have had did the same thing

    Make it go FASTER!

Ha Thanks Gdub. Isn't that why we love Escorts!!!!
The benefits in the end seem to outweigh cons.
I'll have a look at the tacho, seems a logical fix.

    Very strange.
