Steering UJ

Hi,

Does anyone know the difference in length between the short and long UJ's? I've got a 79 mk2, the rubber type uj appears that both ends are of equal length. I've seen on ebay a solid style one thats says its about 78mm. I can't properly measure the one fitted to the car but it looks around 90mm but theres some flex in the rubber. Does anyone also know if you can get the solid links for the longer ones if thats what i need?

Cheers

Karl

This has been answered a couple of times before on the forum but the archiving process has removed the images and answers.

I'm 99% sure that you'll need the long solid coupling.

I think your right, been asking around on eBay.
Lengths I got were 12cm for rubber joint and 75mm for solid knuckle.

Just emailed the link you put up and they said
"The bolt centres measure 90mm and the total length is 105mm"
So that's pretty close to the rough measurements i got.
Thank you will get one on order.
