C paint code

The recent purchase of my RS is going to be a on/off resto project and is sitting at the back of my workshop and when i finish the retail repairs  i am free to work on it ,
today had a look at the paint codes for the RS , just realised mine has the c coded midnight blue , it's currently a silver livery painted ouside and in the door shuts only , bugger i like the silver but would rather return it all to original .
Had a close look at yours jimmyd (cairns )  and it looks good mate ? is there many of the blues in OZ ?

Twas the said one , i saw it last time he listed it also , he told me he sold it to a guy in Ireland who then decided it was to expensive to ship due to the dive of the euro ,  so asked him to relist it for him ??
personaly i like the  RS as a standard from the factory ,
the silver is dead anyways so will remove it and repaint it's coded blue 

I actually own 2 Midnight  Blue 4dr RS2000s(Vic).  Only once have I seen at SFS one or two other Midnight Blue RS (4 or 2 door) and one was repainted and not the correct shade.  Silver and black are the only very (very!) rarer ones I have heard of.  (onlt ever seen 1 black (not sure of the orininality though!) and 2 silvers - the black shell at a Fowles stolen and recovered auction 17yo and the silver 2 I saw both screwed with rust (One at SFS for sale, and another on Ebay - possibly the same one..)
 
In my 15 years of having my midnight blue RS I have only ever seen two other 4 doors and a single 2 door on the road in that colour.  (I have heard of 1other (2door)  being restored in the 2 clubs I am in and know of an original C code (2door) shell that is now PinenLime.....
 
Midnight Blue was an RS colour only in Escorts and you will not see many others ...  (My second one I got as spares actually came about from someone coming up to me at work and telling me their son had one of "those" sitting at home in the backyard...  I got it mainly for the engine and RS panels, but the shell is kaka....)
 
My other Midnight Blue Rs is actually for sale and mechanically A1 needing just a bit of body tidying up and respray to make a great car (see the 4 sale section).  It is currently on club plates, but does not see enough use these days to really warrant me keeping it (other than the fact that as an investment it is only appreciating in value). If it does not sell - i actually already have the paint for it and will restore it in the future, but it would be great to see a properly restored Midnight RS again...
