Re-attaching door trim with mirror adjustment. (MK2 Escort)

Today I pulled the door trim off so I could WD40 the door catch, and now I can't get the door trim on back and keep the useless mirror adjustment back in place/ I'm just wondering if any of you guys got any tips for doing it.
But on the plus side the door has worked the best it ever has.

1979 Escort RS2000 2dr:- Getting N/A YB Cosworth engine.
