pinto alternator fitment.

Hi. Can someone please tell me if I need to use a different bracket or different alternator?  Alternator in the pic is is an 85A bosch. I also measured a smaller bosch and a lucas from kent motors, both had the same dimensions and didn't fit the bracket. Thanks

You need the rubber bush mount. You might find the alternator won't line up with crank/waterpump.
I can help with a mount to suit a 85a, or a complete standard alternator ready to bolt up.

What you think about, you bring about.

i think the bottom mount usually mounts to the block with 3 bolts , so that one must be off something else ??

In that case you might need to get rubber bush type.

just went through this all myslef, the ebay l;isted mount lowers the alternator slighlty...
i was previously running my Bosch alternator on the mount you currently have it was just spaced forward to work. I believe that mount is a cortina 2litre mount

off topic wheres the best place to get bushed for the other mount from?

Hey gang, I am in need of an alternator as I cannot find mine!! I had the engine rebuild many years ago and am just now finding the time and desire to get into the car again.

I have the bracket described above and will be getting the large (85A) alternator from a falcon to fit to it.  Is there a particular model? BXF1238? There is one of those available close to where I live.

    Thanks for any advise.
