Cam identification question

Hi guys n gals, I have just stripped down a 2.0 pinto for rebuild and stick in my escort. apart from +40 thou pistons the motor looks pretty standard.
The cam i pulled out doesn't appear that old and has markings not consistant with standard cams from what i remember.
There are two sets of markings stamped on the cam, the first is on the front face where the timing sprocket sits CE652 and the second is stamped about a third the way along the cam MC24993. The height difference in inlet and exhaust lobes is 6.07mm or around 242.8 thou, maybe a standard replacement?
Google hasn't produced much and i looked around the sites of most common brands with no luck. I thought someone here may have run accross this cam at some stage.
Thanks

Mick

Usually its stamped onto the back of the camshaft (the retainer plate groove end) other numbers cast onto the shaft are usually meaningless.

With that lift I suspect its an aftermarket stock replacement.  As Dave Andrews describes... "useful only as a weapon"

Thanks Avon, Yeh i thought aftermarket replacement because of the lift factor, the numbers CE652 are not cast though, definitely stamped but on the front end. I know most performance shafts are ID stamped on the rear.

    Cheers
