well after a month or 2 of nothing i came across this and couldnt help myself...

and then this became the new project but i got to drive it at the same time which made it all worth while

after blowing the diff center for the 3rd time i decided to get it done right, tranx lsd fully rebuilt diff center, shotpeened axles which ended up costing me alot more then i ever planned for... car was off the road for 3 months while waited for parts and the money to pay for them ....

very fun car to drive revving out to 6500rpm and still wanting to go on its way to 7 but im not that cruel

again things sort of slowed down after a while. since i bought this car i put the quick rack in, put a kit throught the wilwood front callipers, alumminium radiator, ceramic coated big bore extractors, 2.5" stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust with small hotdog and varex( very good sound out of it),2 new alternators... havign some very bad electrical problems, 8000k HID headlights,diff... coil over front struts, gaz inserts, new seat belts and whole heap of other things i forgotten about

once i saw this beauty come up for sale i couldnt help myself and ended up with my 3rd 2dr....

    one of my favorate photos...

so now i finally have a shell in excellent condition... scanned the car all over found only one 50c peice size bit of rust in the whole car!!!  was extremely happy

that same week i found my powerhouse for the car too... fully built s15 sr20 was putting out 250rwkw according to the dyno sheet that came with it

test fitting it in the old car as i already had the xmember in the car...

most of this happened in the last month and a half and havent really done much since then but start stockpiling more parts that i need and trying to get into contact with my local engineer

Xmember is a modified world cup Xmember so there rubbers are stand bushes but the mounts are made out of plate steel and some tubing I'll find some pictures, as for gearbox, until I can get my hands on a z32 Gbox and adapter I can't design my Xmember until then having a great deal of trouble tracking one down

ok what about using a sr20 crossmeber and shorten it and weld the escort mounting brackets onto it.

There is no point in doing that.Tto fit the Sr box escort xmember mounting points need to be removed from the trans tunnel to allow for the extra width of the bigger gearbox.
I suggest modded sr xmember or a full custom one.

if you were talking about the gearbox xmember rs2000 is exactly right and my tunnel has been completely replaced so it custom fabricated for me which i prefer to trying to modify a sr one... custom will be much neater. if you were talking about engine cross members i would suggest talking to esky79 his set up is good. pom501 ( i think thats right) used to make sr20 xmembers, i got mine from hendo who i think got it from pom... long story anyway sr member will be a pain in the ass as all the steering componets would mount to it without extreme modification

I hear you.  My parents own about 3 monster sheds any one of which would be perfect but they all have dirt floors too.

quite a large trans tunnel, also if anyone knows anything about holdens any idea what car that radiator is out of?

got distracted by the old ball and chain

ordered all new superpro bushes and a set of resprung leafs with extra leaf installed

i went to put a new gasket/seal kit through my spare gearbox and i noticed it has masport stamped under the gearbox number does any know if there is anything special about that gearbox?

also looks like someone has beefed up the clutch fork though not sure its nessarcy

the goal for the next few weeks is to put all the new bushes in swap the gearbox and hopefully have it ready for the all ford show at eastern creek, i ordered kits for my dellortos which turned up on friday so need to kit them, retap and drill my manifold to set up vaccun line for dizzy, then off to unigroup for dyno tuning and hopefully it wont drink 16L to the hundred anymore...
