Purchase of new seat for road / racing

Im in the process of buying new seats for the escort. My old reclining seat failed scrutineering last event.
 
what are peoples thoughts on this one.

My concern is about the field of vision on the road when driving. Im sure these will be fine on the track.
 
I appreciate your thoughts in advance

    I would agree somewhat, however you need to weigh up the amount of time that you use the car on the track vs road and what speeds you reach. I have been involved in racing for a long time and have seen the results of minor and major accidents. Some not very nice.
    Having an appropriate seat for the style of racing and of course budget is important too.
    Maybe it would worth while sitting in various seats to check for side vision, perferrably in an escort or worst case in a shop.
    Another couple of important factors to consider are:
    1. Will the seat bolt in easily?
    2. Will the seat fit you properly (narrow or wide hips)?
    3. Are you going to use a harness (highly recommended. Use only 3" strap style, 5 or 6 point if possible)?
    4. If no harness, will the std road belt be able to used correctly?
    5. If there is a roll cage fitted, will the seat fit in correctly particularly if there are cross braces thru. the door/s?
    Lots of other things to consider as well, but just some ideas from my experiences.

    Thanks very much for the feedback. Plenty to think about.
     
    My street use probably outwieghts the race time. My cconcern is the lack of protection a reclining seat offers given the worst case senerio and the speed.

    Race seat wins out very time over a reclining seat.
    Reclining seats break very easily with nasty results.
