Clearance from sump to pickup.

What clearance is required between the strainer and the sump?
 
Pinto with cosworth 2wd sump and pickup if it matters?

    I dont know what the actual rules on this would be but I think you would want about 3mm, any less and it might restrict flow, any more and it might allow cavitation...
