Bonnet Blackout Treatments on V6

Hi everyone,

To help solve an arguement, can anyone with an original V6 bonnet with the blackout treatment please advise the following details:

The measured distance between the blackout treatment to the top of each F O R D letter on the bonnet, as it appears there are many variances out there on supposedly original cars. This needs to be done from the edge of the Black part of the bonnet and not the pin stripe.

My understanding was that Ford had changed the shape of the blackout treatment on the different V6 models from 1970, 1971 & 1972, as the middle point of the black is a sharper curve on the earlier models and is more rounded on the later models.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, and can you spcify month/year when you advise the 4 measurements.

thanks,
Rick.

Here is a pic of my nov 72 capri in 1977. Its done about 20000mls and is in perfect original condition at this time.
It appears to show that the front of the blackout splays back a bit more than the ford letters.
Brochures for the 70-71 model shows the blackout to be paralell to the ford letters.

There won't be too many Capris around that haven't had a respray at some time (or at least a touch up), but between everyone we should be able to post a few pics of original cars.

This is an original 1970 GTV6, not sure of month.

Hey Guys, thanks for the responses, as I thought there is definitely a difference between the early and later models.

If anyone that owns a later 1971/72 model could provide the measurements in mm from the top of each F O R D letter to the edge of the solid blackout section (not the pinstripe) it would be greatly appreciated as we are trying to recreate this in paint on a restored 1972 V6.........

Again, thanks for the replys so far...

Samsung galaxy tablet with gallery and studio its just so easy even a tech challenged old guy like me can do it. Theres a whole spectrum of colour to choose from. With cropping and borders and all sorts of special affects.

i was looking thru couple capri owners handbook and service book + the capri option booklet was supprised to see that the uk option gt r plan option the blackout goes right to the edge of the bonnet past the ford badge all the way to front ..

also seen they offered a leather steering wheel as well on 1600 and 2000 gt models
