Hot coil

Just fitted a new electonic dissy with igntion module and supplied coil , cars is running great all good accept the coil is very hot any thoughts there was no resister in the kit so i presume one would not be needed but am i wrong in presuming anything.

    The ballast resistor is only to alter the coil voltage when cranking. With electronic you dont need one.
     
    It wont be anything to do with the coil getting hot

    Make it go FASTER!

    I thought that would be right as one never cam in the kit. Any other ideas as to why its getting hot and or is this normal .

    it is normal for the coil to run quite hot.
    good idea to have it in a spot with plenty of airflow. i have seen quite a few get cooked because they are hidden away where there is no airflow.

    Thanks gazz airflow might be the problem as it is pretty well hidden , will move to a better spot . cheers mate
