I have one in a Mk1, it came with the car and its the first 1600 ive ever had and must admit i like it.
    capri GT head
    cosworth A2 cam
    weber 2lt carb
    fully balanced 711M bottom end
    lightened flywheel
    pacemaker extractors
She has a fantastic sounding idle and will rev to 7000, ive had a couple of pinto powered escorts and I can say that it pulls way better than a standard pinto, so at a rough guess I would say it has a touch over the 100hp mark.
Still not changing my mind about swapping her out for 2lt one day though.

    Hi Mezza,

You can get an adapter plate from weber performance for a 32/36.
    http://www.weberperformance.com.au/index.php?cPath=29_132_146
or find a mk2 1600 Ghia manifold (PM Sent)

If you are going to rebore the block get 83.5mm pistons this will bring it out to 1700 using std head gasket. I had some pistons made with 1300 crowns and extra deep and wide valve pockets, if you are interested I will dig out the part number.  JPengineering supplied the pistons and have the jig to make more. This makes a noticeable improvement.
