fuel pressure reg needed??

I have a bosch type elec fuel pump. does 330lph. I am going to be running the fuel past the twins and back to tank through the return line. The return line is a slightly smaller dia which will create a little pressure to the carbs. (this is how i understand it).
So do i need to run a fuel pressure reg or will this bypass system be enough?

Thanks.
Darren.

Is it a low pressure fuel pump? 5-6psi or so?

Pump is too big for the job.get an appropriate pump for the carby application and it will be much easier to set up.

yeah, thats way too high to be running on carbs as it sounds like you've got an efi pump.
You'd only want a pump running around about 6 psi i reckon (from when i had twins) and i think it was about 120-150L /hr. Mightn't even been that. If you have the right pump like RS said you want need to worry about restricting pressure as the carbs will fill up at the right amount for the floats etc and what evers left will just flow out gently through your return line.

I used to use a facet red top I think? with a filter king pressure regulator on the Westfield, you don't need to use a return line with one of those.

Something along the lines of this is the go....
    http://www.ebay.com.au/it...ksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Webers and most carbs do not want much pressure... only a couple of PSI 2-4 generally ... Anything more than about 6 need a reg.... 75PSI is a fuel injection type pressure and WAY to high...
Too much pressure and it will flood or worse leak and we all know that the dizzy of a Pinto is perfectly positioned under the carb to burn/vaporise any leaking fuel.... (What sound does a dog make ??? )

I am sometimes wary of sites selling/promoting particular types of pumps and bagging others.   The little facet type pumps do NOT deliver high PSI - IF you get the right one... I have used these on a number of cars for years and only had 1 failure -and at around $50 from most auto shops are a bargain and I keep a spare in the spares box....

Just my 2.2c worth including GST....

    Thanks guys.
    Sad story with the pump.
When i first started i bought a holley style pump but couldn't find anywhere to mount it.
So i got a bosch style pump - too big. Blew my pressure gauge :-(.
So a friend got me a little in-line pump (can't remember the name) which I said had to be a rotary pump (which he thought he bought )- turns out it is a solenoid pump. the thug thug thug gave it away :-P
so...... it stays till i can afford a carter pump.
    :-(
