installing a new cam

just wondering, i am presently looking at getting a good fast cam, and would like to know is it just the cam they change or all the springs and the like, will not be undertaking this myself, just curious.

    cam and rockers should be done together.

    yep, depending on what cam, you may need to convert to double vavle springs and and always put new rocker arms, there cheap to buy. Not only that, you will wreck your cam. I have seen this done, thats why iam letting you know.

    Depending on what engine you have, you also need to set up the rocker geometry correctly, which means making the valves the correct length etc.
