Escort MK2 Race Car History

Hi All
I recently purchased a MK2 race car from a guy in Sydney, and I'm trying to trace down who built it. It's got a fairly distinctive paint job, so hopefully someone out there has seen it before or knows something extra about it. I have the details of the two previous owners, but thats where the trail stops. I believe it was built by a QANTAS mechanic living in Caringbah back in the early 90's, and ideally this is the person I'm looking to get in touch with.
It has a CAMS sticker on the bolt-in alloy cage, but according to CAMS these old records were never digitised and accessing them is a real pain.
