Mk1 Fuel Tank fuel connection

Hi all.
I am reusing the old MK1 tank in my MK1.
However the fuel line was made of plastic.
What mod/fitting should I fit to the bottom of the tank and what size fuel line should I use.
Its a 2L with a std carb, not a big HP motor.

    I used a male to female elnow and then a male threaded barb for the hose.
     
    Thread should be 1/4"Bspt.
