T9 into Auto Mk 2 escort

G'day everyone,
 
Sorry as this question has probably been smashed 1000 times but here goes...
 
I'm fitting a T9 to my previously auto mk2, i'm using the auto crossmember so it will bolt straight up, do i need a spacer between the mounts and the cross member? and how think? about 20mm??
 
Also, how far back do you need to cut the new gear leaver hole? and how does the consol sit now its been moved back?
 
Oh and what size are the mounting bolts? cant seem to find them after 2 years of floating around in the shed :/ 5/16" ??
