Mk1 1300 GT - 3SGE Project

Today I collected my new project car - with the help of my father and a friend.. I took all the suspension bits home and managed to borrow the complete front suspension and diff from a friend as well as the rims and tyres from an uncle here around the corner from me to get the car mobile and onto the trailer. Had some issues with getting the diff in place as I forgot the car has wider leaf springs than the standard mk1's, but never the less, got it on :D , I was going to take the car home but then my buddy said I can move the car over to his house later to do the fitment of the engine and sorting the suspension out and so on. So we decided there and then to move the car to his house rather, and it was only about 1.5km's away. Got the car off the trailer and moved it to the back where we hosed it down and wiped it off.. The car is standing in his garage now along with a R33 GTR Skyline and a 400+ kw 200SX, I had to put the 8J 13's on it just to see how far they sit out :D , but as expected, outside the arches
The car is a UK built Mk1 1300GT that came into South Africa in 1971 when the owner moved over till here, He had the car and it changed hands thrice before I got it, the 2nd or the 3rd owner did a colour change from the original silver to this blue in 1999, the gent that I bought it from was running a dry-sumped N/A 2.4 YBM on 50mm Webers.   As I mentioned in my post in the My Rides section, I got the car with some nice suspension goodies, a full and very nice original interiorm but without motor, gearbox and diff... I'll be fitting a 3SGE BEAMS engine and gearbox from the Altezza RS200.. Here's some pics of today...

I went to go and look at the car today and trial fitted 175/50R13's on the 8J rims.. too much stretch for my liking but it will work
Check the brakes on the GTR in the last pic...

Nice one! Should go nicely with the 3SGE in it, they're not a bad bit of kit :)
