Brand New Zetec Kits - Retroford

Hi Guys, Just had a great experience with Dave at RetroFord with his Zetec Kit. Just thought I would share it and help him out

Dave always gives 10% discount for orders over 500 Pounds.

http://www.retro-ford.co....ck-top-wc-mount-z052-0

UK1581.00 Pounds less 10% Ozzie Discount = UK1422 Pounds + Air Freight UK100 Pounds. Total UK Pounds 1522

Aussie Conversion $2300 +GST @10% = $2530.

As I said great experience and if there is any issues its ALWAYS good to speak directly to the guy who designs and makes the stuff....

It should actually be a bit cheaper than that. We don't pay VAT, which is currently 20%. That makes it £1,318.09 before the 10% aussie discount. or £1,186.28 after.
add the 100 quid postage to get £1,286.28 and run it through the xe.com currency conversion and you get... $2,004.84 plus gst etc..

So with this kit and those mounts do you have to have a W/C cross member?

Reading various posts on WCXM's I know they're not all built identicle which will lead to other problems (sump hitting steering rack, exhaust headers fouling floor etc).

To be safe I would buy one from them also so it's all guaranteed to fit.

    Cheers

I bought a Gartrac WCXM and it all fits perfect...
But yes it would make perfect sense to buy it all of the same manufacturer... Its guarantied to fit...
If you have any issues, feedback to the manufacturer is always helpful too...Helps the next enthusiast ...

I never got a 10% discount when I got my kit a year ago and there were some small parts of the kit missing too! Im not mechanic so I was left scatching my head a bit trying to work where the all the stuff went on the motor and calling the uk to find out as there were no basic instructions. Despite that though I got the kit on and am reasonably happy with the quality of the kit.

Hmmm - including that freight charge I recon Roger Carrol's Duratec conversion parts would be looking like a pretty reasonable alternative depending on your intended application?

    Cheers

I think the postage quote of 100 pounds is a worry, hopefully its a done deal otherwise you'll end up out of pocket by a fair bit more...Mick B is on the money....a cossie head costs about 160 pounds to air freight so this hit will be at least double that.

Some UK sellers arent interested in the vat exemption for exports and will still charge it...always need to ask the question before buying.

So when does it arrive?! Pics!!

Realisticly with it landed and in the garage its probably more like a 3 grand excercise with correct freight and duty paid.

    • You have to ask Dave for discount it doesn’t happen automatically. Why give it if someone will automatically pay 10% more
    • There is no Duty on parts for a vehicle over 30 years old.
    • www.parcelbroker.co.uk for the best shipping deals or Interparcel
    • 330 quid is a price I would expect to pay to ship a pallet through seafreight.

He may aswell shut his website down then if all the prices on there are false. That's were the postage price came from! Oh and by the way my retro ford zetec kit sitting on my loungeroom floor looks nice.
