4dr RS in uk

Hi guys
You may or not remember me trying buy a 4dr mk2 RS well i got one with the help of a mate out there and here she is just arrived in the uk and i picked her up on tuesday very pleased

Knew that would get a bight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
But nothing exciting to report, I got to drive it in its one and only competition outing, a one day classic road rally with Dave as navigator. These are basically navigation rallies with special tests thrown in (sprints, motorkhans's that sort of thing).
 
I think the event was the Coastal Classic about 4 or 5 years ago?????? I cant recall where we came, it couldnt have been too near the pointy end.
 
I do remember two things about it though.......
 
When I got to Daves place on the night before the event he had all the tailights out and apart as it lit up like a christmas tree, all lights flashing etc whenever you hit the brake pedal or indicators......it took quite a few beers (bad earths) and a lot of zip ties (broken pedal switch) to sort it all out.
 
The other thing was that out of all the Escorts I have driven this thing was probably the nicest. After a full day in my own Mk1 you are pretty well stuffed (too noisy, too stiff etc) but that car went well, wasn't too noisy and was really comfortable to drive, you could easily do a multi day event in it.

To add to the car's competion history I found the 1st place trophy it won at the 2007 Queensland All Ford Day for Best Escort.

I was in that event in 2006. Didn’t take a picture of the car specifically but here it is in a group shot of some of the cars at the start at the now closed Big Pineapple.
