That 4dr is a little bright. I'm 100% on the 15x7 10 spoke Superlites now. Went to Sandown for a Chev show, and somehow managed to find the rsocvic and ffcc track day. Hmm. Anyway, there was a nice Capri there with the Superlites, and I spent ages just staring at them, look awesome. So I'll put the order in tomorrow, won't be ready in time for Canberra though. If the guy who's doing the engine is on time, the green one will be leaving Tuesday, and hopefully back within the next week or so. I might be cutting it a bit fine. [B)] Oh well, I'm back off into the shed to sit and stare at it some more.

oh so it is the same one. I saw that the other day going through old topics. Wasn't sure if it was or not. What a history this car has had!

Still trying to uncover it all, a guy on cardomain thinks he used to own it so I'll try and get onto him.

Scortfreak...
John cutler built the car himself in that same yard the picture has been taken...
he bought it as a bare shell in primer.. they did some extra body work and got it looking like it is... his father is a spray painter and sprayed the car in that yard too so as you can see its a pretty good job. considering the paint is getting old, and also there is only 2 coats of paint on the car!!!
John sold the car to that fella off cardomain who had problems with it apparently. i think you said his name was fred?? Fred had the car for about 2 or 3 months apparently not sure and then sold it to my friend who loves his v8's he bought the escort as a runabout for work but got sick of the lack of power. (worked pinto???) and i grabbed the car off him!! thats the story to date now you have it!!! john had is at the fast fours jamboree in 2002 or 3?? cant remeber which one...

Thanks Ty. She's leaving in the morning. At least I'll have the yellow one back to play with while it's gone. [B)] Does anyone make fibreglass MK1 boots/bonnets? Hoping to get a pair for the track. Also looking for some trumpets, but I think I can get them through the guy who's doing the engine.

Off it went. Doesn't look like it will make the Canberra meet, but fingers crossed. [B)]

Went and had a look at the progress today. He's decided to weld some pieces into the front end since they've been cut out and he doesn't think it's strong enough. He's also making a part for the gearbox so it fits better. I'm actually thinking about putting it all on hold and just bringing the yellow one up to Canberra. Should know by Friday what's happening. [xx(] Anyway, he's taken a look at the engine and reckons it's good for around 145hp. Should be even better once I get it back and throw some money at it.

I'm not actually sure what the guy's referring to, I think it's just the radiator support panel. I'm going to leave the green one with him for a while so he can set it all up, and bring the yellow one to Canberra instead. So that was a big waste of time. [:p] Hopefully by the time I'm back the swap will be all ready to go.

Yellow car is back, fark it's fun to drive . I'll leave the green one with him for a while, he wants to replace a few little things, then it should be ready for the swap when we get back.

Took it out for a spin today (literally ) and got some photos while I was at it. I'm re-sizing them and putting them on my site at the moment, should be done soon. Also, if anyone wants any photos taken of their cars up at the Canberra meet let me know so I know how many memory cards to take. [:x)] Had some fun in the dirt, couldn't help myself. My friend got a video of it so whenever he's over next I'll post it up. Private property of course. [8)] Download Attachment: dirtfun.JPG48.36 KB
