Personally i would have gone with some nice mandrel bends, I tend to find bending it that way restricts the flow too much lol[88]

Scortfreak.....firstly, would just like to say. Nice Mk1. Secondly what exactly is your mechanic doing to it? A motor swap with your yellow one was the bit I got but what else. Why the radiator support and the bent exhaust? Why the wheelnuts and spacers.??

Craig, to be honest... No idea. [:p]

The radiator support I can understand, as it will probably help me pass rego. But not anything else.

The exhaust, I was told, got bent when he was trying to load it onto a trailer. The car was too low (it's only 2" lower than stock), so they tried to remove it, and that's about as much as I know. I don't know how he bent it that much. [B)]

Might give him one last chance, then I'll just do the work myself. Now I can understand what Fehlbie's going through, we're paying people to do nothing, and in my case break stuff! [xx(]

So is he doing a Roadworthy Certificate inspection on it?

Why did he put it on a trailer? I still don't understand, what area of Melbourne are you in?

just go off my signature, i wasn't joking. Mine is all sorted now, new plugs go in tomo and put the interior back in and she's all sweet. I am still going to sell it though, its time for a change. I just wanted to replace all the hings that were not perfect before, that way i have peice of mind to sell it.[8~2] I'm also toying with the idea of splitting the running gear and selling it as a conversion package and the car as a rolling shell with brakes interior cage ect ect... will wait and see what comes of advertising it together.

Still i have mixed feeling so much work to sell, so much money to lose, sooooooooo much fun to drive[:u]

I'm still going to stick with the escorts just want something different.

Its great fun building something even with the tears of fixing others mistakes.

thats my ramble
Stan

ps i love your plates

Craig, he put it on a trailer so I could take it into my work and spray where he'd done the repair. I'm in the south-east, down near Mentone.

Stanley, I like that quote.
I don't know how you could sell that MK1 without enjoying it for long, after putting all that work into it. But if you were to sell the engine as a ready-to-go conversion, let me know. I'd love to see the look on Ty's face if I put a Nissan engine in his old car, haha. [88]

Scortfreak,
Pull the car out of his shonky garage and do it yourself. Its a day job no longer EDIT(thats if your setup ready to go with no missing bits or interuptions)[}:)] Also he should be replacing that exhaust at his expense. I cant figure out how he had to do that do it?

Rhys, I'd love to do it myself. Would have from the start if I could.
Problem is I have no space, and no garage to work in. None of the equipment I need, engine crane etc. That and I have no idea about engines. [:p]

But if he keeps this up I'll have no other choice. [B)]

Oh, probably wouldn't be able to help you as my shop is in Yarra Glen

Just get sick of hearing about people getting ripped of by dodgy mechanics. We're not all like that.

Fair point Scortfreak, but you don't need a garage [:p] My car's 'not good enough' for garage space so all my work gets carried out, outside, half the time under a $20 gazebo.

Yeah, probably a bit far. I'll keep it in mind if all else fails though.
