3m vinyl wrap dash ?

Hi just wonderiing if anyone has had a dash done with the 3m vinyl.
It seems like it shouldnt be a problem. My window tint guy has been using it for years on interior consoles etc.He is that confident with it has wrapped his complete bonnet of his forester sti in carbon ..
It looks really good. I understand like anything the final result will only be as good as the prep work.
It comes with a 12yr inside warranty seeing the car wont be left in the sun for periods. It might be a good option. Dash original want $800+ to do the both and I know capri clinic do them as well.
cheers

Hey ya mate. I did my Sierra dash in the 3M Di-Noc. I am a signwriter and have wrapped many whole cars in carbon wrap before so yes, my cleaning prep work was spot on. At first the Di-Noc went on great. Looked fantastic when finished but sadly only held its shape for about a month before it started to come away from most of the deep convex curves. The problem is that the 3M Di-Noc is actually an architechtural film designed for facsia cladding on buildings. People found themselves very red faced when trying to claim a warranty on "peeling" vinyl when applied to vehicles when this product was released. 3m will not warrant the film for automotive use at all.
Maybe try a small section to see how well it holds for a few weeks.
We use a product out of Europe called Hexis which is designed and warranted for vinyl use. I have been meaning to get around to redoing sections of my dash because the 3M looked great... While it holding on.

I was talking to a trimmer a while ago and he said they use a place in Syndey for vacuum dash repair, cant remember the name but will see if I can track him down.  I doubt capri clinic do it in house so best to find someone that can do it and cut out the middle man.  You could probably get a trimmer to sew up a vinyl sleeve for less.  Have you aksed the Dash Board Doctor in Vic?

As a signwriter aswell I can vouch for what big gav is saying with the 3M.

There's a place in Adelaide I'm fairly sure is called Winner Products.  I used them for my Capri when I first bought it years ago, still looks great
