Weber 45 DCOE side drafts

Hi guys

I am currently looking a buying a set of 45 dcoe carbys for my 1979 mk2 rs2000. I was looking at buying them from weber performance in Melbourne. Also looking at running k and n filters on them. Has any body used the filters and any clearance issues. Also wanting to know what people are doing with the purge line from the fuel tank and also their is two lines coming from the distributor wanting to know what to do their as well. on basic cost, buying the carbs OS may be cheaper, but we need to support the local guy, because if we dont, we wont have somewhere to go to get jets, or rebuild kits. We'll have to wait while the courier delivers them and if they are not exactly right..........need I go on

Whats the car going to be used for?
 
I am putting Yamaha R1 Carbs on my 2ltr and I should get away with everything for around $500.
 
Much cheaper than 45's but if it's for race than the 45's or higher are the way to go I am lead to believe.

Not up and running yet but hope to be inside a month.
 
Checkout the TurboSport UK forums as there are heaps of posts about their pros and cons.
 
From my understanding there is no benefit (i.e. more power) than that of the 45's but it's the lower costs and easer setting up that make them more popular these days.
 
Plus they apparently don't go out of tune like webbers do.
 
Have a search on TurboSport and make your own mind up.
 
If it's performance you are after and have the money then you really can't go wrong with the 45's.
