2L filler hose
Hi all.
I got a filler hose for the 80 mk2 2L ghia i am rebuilding. (tank under the boot)
It is the same one that Burtons sell. (they supply to Burton's)
I doesn't fit. The diameter is too small. They say they have sold thousands and this never happened........
I am the second owner of my car and there is no way it has been modified. It's the same as the manual describes as well.
Does anyone know where i can get one or why mine doesn't fit?
Thanks.
Darren.

Sounds like the rubber hose is to suit a Mk1 tank.
The filler neck is smaller on a Mk1 than a Mk2 with the underfloor tank.

Well thats what i figured but this is the reply i got.
"We have sold 100s of them for all of the mk 1 and mk 2 Escorts to the trade and retail inc the AVO CLUB and BURTON POWER.
and we have not had any one who has come back to us to say that it will not fit."
They were nice about it. but... i need a hose :-(

Remember the UK cars didn't have the drop tanks - only the side tanks.
