Replication of Original Equipment Parts Currently Not Available.
Hi All, I am interested in replicating parts and components for our old cars that currently are not available anywhere in the world. There has been a lot of interest in the reproduction RS2000 rear spoilers from all over the world, seen elsewhere on this forum. The spoilers are now being shipped to many parts of Australia, and to many countries. A number of people have raised the question asking, "what is next on your list of parts to reproduce?" This has got me thinking that a lot of parts that I have been chasing, other people are also chasing. So my question to forum members and to the owners of all old vehicles of all types is: "what parts or components do you need that you currently cannot find anywhere that you would like to see reproduced?" The parts can be for any car, bike or truck, and of any material. I am an engineer with 30 years of design and manufacture experience. ta, Peter.

Hi Peter, Great job on the spoilers. They look great! One thing I think you couldn't go wrong with would be the door trims, specifically for escorts form mine, but any classic car owner would be happy to spend up for these items. Good luck with it all and keep the parts coming. Cheers Matt

MK2 escort door handle gaskets (the one that goes behind the handle and onto the door) and reproduction door handles both internal and external. As I found out recently are impossible to find in good condition. window winders would be another, RS2000 nose cones. Just to name a few.

i think a budget rwd kit for zetecs that bolts up to a standard 4 speed in its original position would sell. i understand there are alot of fabrication hours, but $2500 for retro fords rwd kit is bollocks and thats excluding tax and freight. im not much into putting nissan engines in fords but its hard to look any further than sr20de when its this expensive to put a ford engine in ya esky. cheap and more power than a zetec. but yeah, budget zetecs on carbs is what the people want i recon. you could do it on bike carbs as a kit too?
straight slideways! right?

NOS Inner door handles can be found on Ebay UK quite regularly, same with window winders. I have managed to get both that way. PM me if you want & i will give you details of a guy that sells them on there fairly often. Another Mk2 part some of the concourse guys might want is the rubber sound deadening mat of the top of the firewall (covers the bubble area). They are very hard to get in decent nick & i know guys in the UK pay big money for good ones.

Hi Peter. Like most on here , thanks for the great job on the spoilers. I would also like to see the door trims added to the list, especially 4 door RS. Looking at my own needs here. A reproduction air filter box for the 44idf's would be good. They are going for silly money in the UK now. I think you might be busy for some time now. Cheers Steve.

- mk 2 dash top. - mk 2 rear parcel shelf. - mk 1 indicator stalk. - rs nose cone. - rally pack spoiler. - sun visor. - rs steering wheel. The dash top would be good. I'd buy a couple. Very hard to find without sun damage. You can get repro idf air boxes from a bloke on a uk forum for a couple hundred euro. Send a PM to rainspeed on http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/ You'll be able to get three or four of them for the price of an original.

MK2 escort door handle gaskets (the one that goes behind the handle and onto the door) .
If you ask Garlock they should be able to make these. They water jet cut any type of gasket or sealing material. I use them in QLD for work and their pricing I though was very reasonable for small batch runs (40-50).

Exceptionally happy with the rear spoiler - to notch work. You deserve a Knighthood for services to the global RS fraternity. Fuel filler hose and rear bar plugs fitted perfectly too.... Most of my wish list is already been listed above - 4 Door RS door trims, rear bumper quarters, MK2 outer door handle gaskets, dash tops, 4 door rear parcel shelf, etc That being said, others on my wishlist are; - I would kill for is a set of interior C pillar trims for a 4 door - every set I've found over the last 20 years of searching turn to chalky powder when I go anywhere near them...
- Centre console - alll seem to peel off the metal base
- Factory A/C lower dash pannel - I just paid silly money to get one
- Door seals with welded corners
- upper firewall bonnet support rubber/mount/rest - NOS around for Mk1 but nix for Mk2
- MK2 Brake fluid resovoirs - square one for the RS
- Front and rear quarter glass seals
- If you want to get your engineering skills out for a stretch - a lock stock and barrel kit to convert the front fixed qtr glass to opening. Was a rare euro option not seen on our fair shores, but even the 4 door versions go for stupid money (last set I found were quoted at over 300 UK pounds plus shipping), let alone the phone book numbers thay are asking for 2 doors....
In short - anything you can think of Cheers

Hello James, Thank you for the kind words! I can help knock off one item from your wish list. Today completed the mould for the bonnet bump stop rubber located on the centre heater bubble for the Mk2 Escorts. Will trial a few samples this weekend. Also have the bonnet bump stop rubbers fitted to the top of the front guards Mk2 Escort in early production (4 per vehicle) . I have shipped several to the UK and Ireland for appraisal. More parts coming soon.....
