exciting times i know how you feel. Just got a fully mappable P8 ECU delivered, (from norway) RP labs type, can hook it up to a laptop, and real time map the engine, if only i knew how. :(

Cheers. When I orderd the rims I was hoping the colour would match the silver and it does very well. The offset is alot better too, fills the guards out nicely!

I got my wasted spark conversion in today. Im using 2 ignition modules and a Bosch motorsport 2x2 coil. I had the ignition leads made by Performance Ignition Services. I still want to tidy up the engine bay, that will come soon. Here's a pic.

The sierra section is a bit quiet! Here is my progress. I pulled the engine down and measured it all up. Std bore. Std,Std crank. I stripped the head and sent it out for a freshen up. It got new exhaust guides and reseated valves. Inlet guides were good still. I took the bottom end to Applied Automotive and got them to crack test the crank. That was all ok. It may be able to run new std size bearings again! Also getting the rods resized and new little ends. I will be getting a cometic mls head gasket and acl race bearings for big ends and mains. The pistons arived last week, so Applied can get it bored, honed and get it all balanced. If all goes well I will get it back next week and start the cleaning and assembly!

Ok. To my suprise I got a call today telling me the machining was done and to bring a huge wad of cash and come get it! So the list of work was. Block, tunnel bore mains, bore and hone .5mm oversize, very light skim of the deck. The skim allowed me to go to a cometic mls head gasket. Rods, Resize big ends, new small end bushes and balance. Crank, After 24 years and 135000miles the crank was std std. And im glad to say it still is std std. All it was given was a light polish. The machinists were very excited about the cranks condition. It passed all there straightness and crack tests. They then balanced it up with flywheel, clutch, crank pulley ect . All good. Here are the pics. Block wraped in plastic! It will be running ARP main studs and head studs. Rods with new ARP bolts, new little end bushes, resized & balanced Std, Std crank, polished and balanced. Now its time for cleaning, measuring, measuring, cleaning, cleaning and assembly! Probably more cleaning before assembly.
