boot polishing tyres ?

Has anyone used black boot polish on your tyres before and what was

the success rate ?

I have use kitten No. 2 many years back,don't know if it had silicon

in it though,

Today I would go for a Mcguires product or an Auto Glm line,

I live in SA and I see the guys at the carwash, in the townships mind you, using shoe polish all the time. I've never seen any problems with it, you might think that it might collect dirt, but the roads in the Townships are pretty poor and the tyres always look just fine.
Why don't you just try it; I don't suppose a trial, once-off, application can do any harm...

Kitten polishes are loaded with silicone.
We use auto glym or mothers at work (panel shop)
There are a few kiquid cabnabu polishes around that are really good for bringing faded paint back to life. I will get a couple of names on Monday and post on this thread.
