Measure the resistance across the sender you have installed presently (engine cold) and post the value here. I have a few units at work with different values (for different pieces of plant equipment) and I will get you one with a lower value than yours to try. You can add varying resistance to a sender with a rheostat then buy a 20cent resistor from richard Smith or Jay car to match the value of the rheostat setting, and then simply solder the resistor into the circuit, but you can’t take resistance out of the sender value.
