Hey Glen. no its stock. it has been restored to better than new. ford used it in their heritage line up for launch of the focus rs, and on top gear for the focus launch. the car is perfect, having won avo and rs castle combe day the last couple of years. O

Gtv6capri do you still have the same email address? Whooligan my car has been in classic ford and runs triples, but this was a long time ago, it was one of the first rs31 to run triples but now it a fairly common mod. Must get around to getting that ADR!!!!

yep i'm on jrgtv6@yahoo.com.au

If you are looking to ADR your car you will need high back seats, inertia reel seat belts, tyre placard, door intrusion bars, maybe a few other things. You might be better off going down the Classic reg path, check the requirements with your club it might be a way to bypass the ADR requirement

Im putting mine on historic rego, that way i dont have to chage a thing. Mark, if you got import approval to bring urs in, it might not need to comply to those ADR's as it is classed as an person import, as my car has been classed. The other point you could raise with them is the rareity of the car and its origins and that modifing the car to meet the ADR's will decrease the valve and resale of ur fine automobile. cheers O

Thanks for that advice, think it's nearly sorted. I've imported it on a personal import and also been told that as it's over 30years old all i need to do is change/fit Australian seat belts front and rear, and replace the aircraft spec stainless steel brake hose's with standard Australian rubber one's!!?? So i'm doing this all be it very slowly, also been told that if i use the "Special" rego plates (QLD) then can ONLY use it for shows etc, i can't just go for a drive like you do in these type of cars(be it escort, cortina etc) So it'll be on ordinary rego!!

When on Special rego plates in Q.L.D you can drive the car with in a 15 klm. radius from where it is garaged for the purpose of tuning/testing or preparing your car for its next Car Club Run or Car Show outing but not for a trip to the local shop.If your RS3100 has the standard single braking system I would recommend using Aust. approved stainless steel brake hoses seeing it's such a rare car.All our MK1 Carpi's came with a twin system so if one of the hoses failed you still had brakes.

You mean this car wools -

Belonged to a real estate developer in London. Has a cage and race seats in the front, Ric Wood engine, spax shocks, image wheels, body was done by Capri Clinic I think.

I dead set wanted to buy it and was willing to sell of everything else to get it. But by the time I noticed the price had been dropped to about 15000 pounds, when I inquired it was already sold.

If this is your car Mark, can I have right of first refusal if you ever want to sell please!

I just read my last post and just to avoid any confusion - I was wondering about the cost to get a car transported from The U.K to Australia - I wasn't enquiring about the cost of the RS itself......

regards Paul

My car is on the water heading to sunny Australia.

The Shipping cost to bring it here is about $6000. but thats for a empty 20ft container, and then you have to pay duty of 10% when it gets here. you dont have to pay tax if its older than a serting age. cheers O

I hope it's really securely tied down and that the seas are calm, Owen.

This topic is about as far off as Ive ever seen, what were we talking about again? Couldnt have been very interesting. Anyway you must be looking forward to this Owen. It does look as tho a double bed mattress each side would come in handy. The fools that packed my cortina ended up walking over the roof so now I have about four creases up there to fix. I hope all your seas are calm.
