Hey guys I've found a turbo and manifold on gumtree but it's not a MX5 one it's from a TX3 turbo (well the Mazda version anyway) would I have any issues bolting that on?

Depends if it's top mount turbo or? Is it aftermarket or a STD tx3 manifold? Might work, not sure, one of the other guys should be able to tell yuu. It'll bolt up to the motor if it's off a bp, but not sure about clearence issues.

The standard turbo manifold from a BPT powered Laser will have the turbo facing the wrong way in a RWD configuration. Plus it will likely foul on the engine mount.

Does anything need to be done to the sump to clear the standard crossmember? What needs to be done on the engine mount side of things?

Ok, so I can't find the parts I need. From what I can see I got 2 options-1:get MX5 motor and put the laser rocker cover on or 2: duratec it?
I was hunting Mx5 motors on eBay and cheapest came to just under $1000 but there's a 2.0 duratec for less than $600.....help!

duratec engine will cost alot more in conversion parts then the BP option. If you plan to go turbo, find either a BPT motor out of a Laser TX3 or a import 323 GTX. The GTX option are available from quiet a few import wreckers. Source the MX5 sump, inlet manifold and front mount thermostat housing. Easiest way to go about it. That's what i did. Cheers Zac
