T5 bellhousing

Can anyone advise what the differences are between a std bw 4speed/type 9 bellhousing and a BW T5 bellhousing?

Thanks
Craig

    A type 9 bellhousing wont bolt a pinto to a T5, but a T5 bellhousing will bolt a T5 to a pinto.

    Hi,
interested in this myself as toyota boxes are as old as escort parts. Will any of the Australian domestic T5 fit, in particular which input shaft and gearshift extension. For the bellhousing, is it only the sierra bellhousing ?

No the Aussie T5 is not a direct replacement.

    1. Use Cossie T5
    2. Celica with Dellow kit
    3. Celica housing with modified Supra straight cut gears and Dellow kit, Cossie flywheel and clutch, Cossie 4x4 compact starter with spigot plate.......Pretty good mod and happily cops 500hp input power (I use this)
    4. Holinger (nice; sequential)
    5. TKO
    6. T6060 from FG Falcon....
    7. Finally - The sky is the limit on choice....
I may change my gearbox but the width can be a problem for your clutch pedal operation....I have spent so many years with the Escort Pedal box, it would be odd to have to make it compact...

So I can't use an aussie T5 then so how hard is it to find a cossie one and how much are they worth? Mark are the straight cut supra gears found in any stock supra boxes or did you buy them?
